The North Fork Breast Health Coalition invites you to the Riverhead Free Library on Saturday, September 12, from 10am-12 noon.
Dr. Carolyn Fierro, M.D. speaks on preventing disease through nutrition and hormonal balancing. Also Better Living Boutique will display clothing and accessories designed for breast cancer patients.
Agricultural displays and contests, crafts, rides and games, music, bingo, truck, ox and horse pulling, antique tractors, clog and line dancing.

This year's event will be BETTER than ever. There will be concessions and entertaining kite fights, kite-making activities, and just general fun for the whole family.We are proud to have The Chicago Fire Kite Team, the National Champions again this year, as well as Hot Rod Kites, Chromatic Kite Displays, and Charlie Sotich, the Miniature Kite Master will also be visiting to Bourbonnais to create more kiting fun!

A piece of the Old West will come to life at
Old Bethpage Village Restoration on August 16 between noon and 4 p.m., as 21st-century cowboys meet for an action-packed New York State "Cowboy Mounted Shooting" championship, announced Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi.
Sponsored by The Island Long Riders, the event features contestants on horseback with two .45-caliber single-action revolvers, each loaded with five rounds of blanks. The riders, dressed in traditional Western garb, are scored on accuracy and time as they shoot at targets. Based in Farmingdale, The Island Long Riders are the area's only mounted shooting club.
The 15th Annual Ogden Valley Balloon Festival in Eden is scheduled for August 14, 15 & 16, 2009. The Festival offers affordable fun for the whole family and will feature balloon launches, Arts and Crafts booths, continuous live entertainment featuring a diverse selection of music, a mountain man rendezvous, kids games, climbing wall and Plein Air art competition and silent auction. Each evening at the Festival Field there will be a live concert with BBQ dinner offered for purchase. The popular Balloon Glow will take place Saturday evening, August 15 at dusk, approximately 8:45 p.m.
The Festival is free other than nominal fees for the kids' games. The events will be held at Presenting Sponsor Wolf Creek Utah's two locations in Eden. The event is also made possible by a generous grant from the Utah Office of Tourism.
The 2009 Festival has expanded its name to the Ogden Valley Balloon & Artist Festival to reflect the growing emphasis on musical and visual artists who participate in the event. According to festival chairperson Larry McBride, "We are so fortunate to have over 50 musicians and musical groups who love to be a part of this event for the wonderful exposure it provides for their talents, as well as dozens of incredibly talented painters and craftspeople."

A must for this summer's to-do list, the award-winning North Fork Craft Beer, BBQ & Wine Festival will return to Long Island's North Fork this August, for what can only be described as the most talked about and most anticipated festival of the summer. More than 50 world-class craft brewers will gather on the picturesque grounds of the Martha Clara Vineyard in Jamesport on August 8.
