The Latke who Couldn't Stop Screaming Lemony Snicket
&
This tongue in cheek look at the holidays follows a shocked and indignant latke as he runs through town screaming after escaping a pan of hot oil. His frustration mounts as he tries to explain his significance to various emblems of Christmas. It's a story about finding your place that presents Hanukkah in the smart and irreverent way that only Lemony Snicket can. It had my youngest rolling with laughter and my oldest rolling her eyes, but it gives everyone something to think about.

- I have a friend who just adores children's books. One of the first children's books she shared with me was about a gorilla named Coco. It was a true story about a female gorilla who was taught over 500 words in sign. The story was amazing, because the gorilla could actually put complex thoughts together using combinations of these words. One time the gorilla asked for a cat. They brought her a ceramic cat. Coco threw the ceramic cat to the ground and signed, "No, want real cat." They brought her a stuffed animal cat and she tossed it aside and signed, "Want real cat." They brought her a box of kittens and told her to pick one. She picked the one without a tail, rolled up in a ball sleeping and named the kitten, All Ball.
